"Cheney Could Face Charges in Shooting"

Personally, from what I've read, heard, or seen on television Cheney was in the wrong. Even though he's the Vice President of our "great country" he shouldn't be able to get away with something that a normal citizen would probably face jail time for. The bad thing about this whole situation is that the only way we've gotten to know this is by leakage at the White House. If a newspaper reporter or whom ever didn't get this information then more than likely the American people would have never even known. Cheney, I can guarentee you will not have to spend a single day in jail because of politcs....That's the government for you... Anyways, all it's going to take is Cheney giving the guy who he "accidently" shot a couple million dollars or whatever and that's going to be the end of that situation. But on the other hand the guy who he wounded did have heart attack and so Cheney might get a slap on the wrists but that's about all.

First off I would like to say to those who are republicans, homophobes, or to those who think that sexuality is a choice….You suck and apparently you know absolutely NOTHING on this topic.!!!!! You can not just out of the blue change who you are or take some magic pill that will turn you gay or straight. What is the big deal about gay marriage??? I just don’t understand. Gay people should have the same rights as those who are heterosexual but for some reason they don’t because in this point in time its considered uncommon, unnatural, or an abnormality. The Virginians who voted or who will vote to banish gay marriage in this state should be mental patients in some hospital (in my opinion). You have absolutely NO IDEA on what its like to be gay and to be treated with so much hate except if you’re Black, Hispanic, or Asian. Some gay people tend to hide in the “closet” someone would say because their afraid that their loved ones will not accept them for who they are. Getting back to the gay marriage issue at hand all gay couples truly want is to be viewed as real couples such as those couples who are heterosexual and have all the same rights and things, without being constantly criticized, because everyone deserves their own happiness no matter who are what they are. I pity those who decides to challenge me on this topic. There are so many things that our founding fathers have written in the past that states that everyone is intended to have happiness and no matter whether or not they meant gay people or not, it however says everyone or along those lines.

Persoanlly,

I'm glad that the Democratic Party won the Governor's race in Virginia. This state would have been in serious trouble if Kaine had lost to Kilgore!!!! Honestly, I believe that Kilgore didn't win because he is a republican and everyones "favorite" president, Bush is also a republican and I think that the voters of Virginia has finally come to their senses about republicans and that their evil!!!! If I was born 3 days earlier than I could have taken part in voting and I wouldn't have voted for Kilgore either!!! I'm surprised that Potts(?) got 2% of the vote because I didn't even know who he was before the governor's race had started.

Personally,

I believe that there is no chance that Pres. Bush is innocent in this case. He must have known something about the scandal but he just isn't charged because he's the President of the United States of America. But the government may find that Cheney's guilty of something becuase we can always find a new Vice President.

Article: The Two Knocks On Miers.

Personally..... On her view towards Gay Rights I would have to say that I would have to support her views. I'm glad that she supports full civil rights for homosexuals because everyone deserves the right to be happy. Bravo, Miers, for supporting increased funding for AIDS education becuase not only same-sex couples need the education but also heterosexual couples. On her views for the Crime and Punishment she's anti-death penalty which could be a good or a bad thing. Though I'm not really sure on her abortion views because she keeps changing her mind. One moment she's neutral and then the next she's pro-choice. Something as important as this she needs to be clear and final on.... But that'z just my opinion on it.

Article: When 'TRUST ME" Doesn't Cut It.

There's one thing that I just don't get about this article. So Bush is a Republican right? So why does the conservative Republicans feel betrayed? Their both Republicans so why can't they just get along and be happy for one another? Anywayz... I would have to agree and say that Miers doesn't have the experience needed to do the job. She's only a lawyer and so she doesn't have enough experience if any to be a Surpreme Court Justice. I have no doubt that people are underestimating her and that she's in fact a bright lawyer but now-a-days it all has to do with experience.

Article: Mild About Harriet.

She probably has served Bush faithfully but that'z not the point. It's the lack of experience that the people are worried about. Personally... I believe that the president shouldn't be able to nominate people to become Surpreme Cout justices becuase he could probably nominate his best friend that worked in the white house and no one would realize it or even know. But since the opposite is in the Constititution I guess nothing can be done about that.

Personally...

I believe that the candidates that are running for any office shouldn't be able to bad mouth each other and that's exacxtly the opposite of what the Republican, Jerry Kilgore, did. He had NO reason to say that if his opponent Democrat, Timothy M. Kaine had won the governor's race that he would raise the taxes on gas. That was just plain wrong. Then he had the nerve to say that if he was governor that raising taxes wouldn't be on his agenda. Kaine in return said that Kilgore could not be trusted so I'm not exactly sure who would make a good governor. I don't agree about Kilgore's opinion about the "ultimate penalty", the death penalty. I believe that a life-time in prison with no hope of parole would suffice. I agree with Kaine because he's anti-death penalty.

Holla.

Hey peeps....
The article that I chose to comment on was Katrina's Silver Lining. In this the author says that even though Katrina was a major crisis it is also an oppurtunity to do something about the urban poverty. It also states that the key will be luring middle-class families into the re-built city BUT PERSONALLY...I don't see how anyone would want to move back to New Orleans because the same thing could always happend again. No matter what they do the land will always still be below sea-level...so why would the government take the risk of another hurricane just coming up and doing the same thing all over again? The next time that a hurricane hits the city it could take more lives with it than what it took with it the first time.
